One part obsession + one part machine learning + one part predictive power = Proprietary Predictable Performance
At ParcelShield, we’re obsessed with building predictive parcel technologies in ways that make specialty pharmacies & your patients more successful in therapy management.
Your Powerful Parcel Command Center Designed for Efficiency, Scalability & Predictability
Make parcel management more efficient, scalable, and predictable with a command center built on machine learning and predictive analytics.
ParcelShield’s predictive science uses artificial intelligence based on machine learning (it learns on its own) to eliminate manual, time-consuming parcel management processes. With this powerful science, specialty pharmacies can automate accurate predictions on changing shipping & deliverability conditions. These predictions can — & often do — save specialty pharmacies thousands, if not millions of dollars in avoided lost revenue.
Our patent-pending predictive technology platform is built on 17 years of granular freight data from some of the world’s largest shipping carriers plus our embedded machine learning algorithms. These algorithms incorporate past & current data patterns from a vast number of sources to make precise deliverability predictions.
Our science does more than predict. It automatically responds to deliverability & shipping scenarios. For example. if a parcel becomes distressed, we’ve built automated workflows into the platform, which drive specific actions that have the highest probability of recovering your parcels without extracting them from carrier networks—saving you significant time and money.
Parcel shipping & recovery solved by science.
Predictive parcel science sounds complex — & it is. But, it makes for a much more efficient & predictable experience for specialty pharmacies & your patients.
Weather events can cause parcel distress, which in turn results in costly effects for specialty pharmacies and your patients. ParcelShield developed its proprietary Weather Farm technology to help reduce the probability of parcel distress and optimize parcel rescue services.
At the heart of ParcelShield’s solutions is our proprietary Weather Farm technology—a machine learning technique that constantly analyzes 40 different weather elements that can impact the carrier’s delivery performance. It combines statistical modeling and a continuous feed of:
Through Weather Farm technology, we fill the carrier gap between the 96.2 percent & the 99.9 percent on-time delivery rate that’s expected to help ensure no specialty therapy patient is ever left behind.
Our clients have found that our service can actually improve the relationship with your parcel carrier. Our agents work closely with carrier call center representatives every day, which provides for a level of efficiency that is appreciated by the carriers. We know what they can and can’t do, and we know how to communicate with them in ways that achieve the optimal end result faster. This helps the carrier, ParcelShield, you, and ultimately your patients experience improved delivery outcomes.
You have total control over this. Every distressed package follows your approved workflow and will only be couriered if your unique criteria is met. In addition to controlling all workflows, we can escalate each package for approval prior to engaging the courier. Between these two options, you only engage a third-party courier to rescue packages when you absolutely need to and have approved the cost.
Why would I not just do this with our own staff?
You can. However, our clients have found that utilizing ParcelShield is much more cost effective and successful in getting distressed packages delivered or rescued. Our high level of automated workflows creates a cost structure that is difficult for any company to match.
Do you make live calls to update our patients or are they automated calls?
The short answer is that we make both types of calls to your patients depending on the level of distress and package sensitivity. For example, if we need to obtain a patient’s availability for a delivery re-attempt, we will make a live call. During that call we inform the patient that they will receive an automated call to let them know if the carrier will be able to complete the re-attempt. This same type of logic is applied to all calls to determine when to make a live phone call and when it is appropriate to use automation.
What type of impact does your service generally have?
UPS and FedEx typically average around 96 percent effectiveness in getting your patients’ medications delivered on the original scheduled date. This equates to 1 of every 25 medications you ship are not delivered on time. With ParcelShield, we move that number much closer to 100 percent. And, in the event a package cannot be delivered on time, we take on the responsibility of notifying your patient and keeping them informed of delivery status every step of the way.
Can you provide reminders to our patients that medications will be delivered today?
We do provide proactive delivery reminder calls to each patient who has a signature requirement on their package. We have found that this reduces the number of times a patient is not available to sign for their medication by over 20 percent.
Absolutely! We provide clients deliverability alerts each day so you’ll know how the weather will impact the carrier’s ability to deliver your medications on time.
